When someone told you she is leaving far far away, the leaving part never really registered even when you are having the last dinner for a long time to come, not even when you see all the luggage lying around, not even when you see things being returned to you. The next thing you know, you were driving break neck speed to the airport, just in time for check-in. Seeing all the luggage being loaded 2 times on the conveyor belt - yeah, we didn't know business class got separate check-in counter. We ended up at the economy class first... anyway I digress, what I meant is, it all sank in at last when the last of the luggage, disappeared into the black hole where all luggages go and I thought, "No shit, she is really leaving.."
We had ourselves a group hug, some minor teasing, and then off the Pet flies down under into freezing winter. And then it got you thinking, one person less to understands and shares your brand of humour, one person less to stay back together through those never ending OTs, one person less to indulge in your wimps and cravings, one person less for confession, one complaint counter less, one VCD supplier less and one crime buddy less to join in your crazy schemes.
But I guess life works that way, never dull, never consistent. When some one hop off your carriage, some one else will hop on. It between, you just surf the net and read a good book. And I can just visualize some one's smirk on the books I like to read. Till the next crime buddy comes along....
Bon Voyage
